This family-kept recipe is somewhat similar to the favourite Sarawakian ‘Mee Kolok’, but offers a distinctive spicy twist.

For those who may find the heat overwhelming, adjustments can be made; patrons are welcome to request a milder version with fewer chilli scoops. The owner typically uses three scoops of chilli sauce, but for the more adventurous diners, I once witnessed someone request for 10 scoops! Personally I think 3 scoops is plenty spicy, and I quite enjoy spicy food. Want to go for something more familiar? The curry and laksa dishes are quite the banger as well.

Due to its popularity, it is advisable to arrive early to secure a table. But don’t worry if you don’t, most customers will quickly leave after their meal so that others waiting can also get a chance to enjoy a rich, flavoursome breakfast at the cafe.
