    Review and Experience

I’ve visited the crocodile farm plenty of times throughout the different stages of my life. My most recent expedition was back in 2020, where I went with my friends after the restrictions were eased during the Movement Control Order.

    Miri Crocodile Farm Activities

    Feeding the Crocodiles & Snakes

One of the things you can do here is feed the crocodiles yourself, as you can pay for the chicken meat and the workers will strap it to the end of a poll and then slowly lower it to the crocodile pit for a lucky reptile to snap down on. You will feel the power of their jaws as they close with a force so intense, it reverberates through your body, and you’ll hear the bone-rattling snap as it happens. Occasionally, you will also see live feedings done by the workers, where unsuspecting chickens wander straight into the crocs' waiting jaws, becoming dinner right before your eyes.

We’ve also been graced with the opportunity to see the feeding of one the pythons, as the worker pulled out the mouse for the snake to tighten its grip on.

    Horse Feeding and Cows

As you walk along the crocodile farm you will find an opportunity to feed the horses. As there are food bags located near the feed. The payment for this operates on a trust system, as you will see a metal box near the food bags to drop your money.

Visitor Tip: The feeding experience should be fine, as long as you respect the horses boundaries. I would recommend admiring the horses from a distance and not extending your hands to pet them, especially if a foal is present with its mother, as it could lead you to getting bitten. I have witnessed this happen to one of my friends, as he thought he was Cinderella. Thankfully, no serious injuries occurred and we had a good laugh about the situation.

The cows here are absolutely massive. During one of our walks, we spotted a 7-foot-tall bull that looked like it was on steroids. It was so imposing, it could’ve easily smashed through the delicate fence if it wanted to.

    Sun Bears Sightseeing

Another part of the farm is the sun bear enclosure, if you’ve always been wanting to see some in real life, this is the place for you. These bears are one of the most weirdest looking bears I’ve set my eyes upon, and there are plenty of them.
